New Year Paintings for year of Water Snake !

New Year Paintings are pasted on doors during the New Year for decorative purpose and as a way of greeting. Images on the paintings are auspicious peaks and plants.
The paintings are called "New Year paintings" because they are mostly posted during the New Year.

恭喜發財 (gōng xǐ fā cái) :  Gongxi Fa Cai

Chinese painting has a rich history as an enduring art form and is well known throughout the world. Traditionally, Chinese painting is done on rice paper or thin silk, using a variety of brushes, Chinese ink and dye. Chinese painting covers a variety of subjects: portrait, landscape, flowers, birds, animals, and insects.

Painting Techniques

Traditional Chinese painting is known as “guo hua (国画)”. Like calligraphy, the painting is done using a brush dipped in black or colored ink, usually on paper or silk. The finished work can be mounted on scrolls and hung. Traditional painting has also been done on walls, porcelain and lacquer ware.
There are two main techniques in Chinese painting:
  • "Gong-bi (工笔)" or meticulous attention to detail, referring mainly to portraits, and
  • "xie yi (写意)" or freehand, referring mainly to landscapes.

HOW do I LOOK : weavers from heart of India

Unless the Charkha adds to your ahimsa and makes you stronger every day,
your Gandhism is of little avail.

HOW do I LOOK : weavers from heart of India

Draws inspiration from the above thought brings us the raw refined integrated version of Indian hand-looms from the creative minds of these women living in heart of India
( ujjain,maheshwar,& malwa region).

The initiative by Neeha Acharya to
integrate these woven to designer wear is commendable.
She has a deep sense of making people look their best in their own skin ............ without manupulating it with diet charts ,fitness regimes and so on and so forth.

So kudos to your spirit Neeha and all the best for your new venture.
